Orthodontic Therapy
If your child has crooked teeth, consider straightening their smile with orthodontics. Adult patients, however, may wonder if orthodontic treatment is a good idea. The answer is yes if you have crooked, crowded, extra, or missing teeth and feel embarrassed to smile. No matter what your age, Dr. Chambers and our team can make your smile appear straighter with the following treatments:
Functional Appliances
Your child’s teeth and jaw will grow throughout adolescence. If their teeth crowd together or align unevenly, a functional appliance can correct the problem. These appliances support an area of the mouth as your child grows, so their teeth develop with a proper alignment. In many cases, a functional appliance can eliminate need for braces.
Traditional Braces
With traditional fixed braces, small stainless steel brackets are glued to your teeth and connected together with a thin metal wire. This springy wire holds your teeth in the desired position. Dr. Chambers can also place tooth-colored or clear brackets to your teeth so your braces are less noticeable.
Invisalign
Invisalign can successfully treat overly crowded or widely spaced teeth. As an Invisalign Certified Orthodontist, Dr. Chambers may prescribe Invisalign to relieve more complex issues, including overbites, underbites, and even crossbites.
Invisalign is a series of aligners that move teeth incrementally. The clear and removable aligners allow you to eat, talk, and smile comfortably. No one will be able to tell you are undergoing orthodontic therapy.
You may have many questions about orthodontics. Will it hurt? Will it take long? Dr. Chambers can answer these questions during an initial consultation. At this appointment, we complete a comprehensive examination and discuss treatment options with you. Since each mouth is unique, Dr. Chambers will create a custom treatment plan just for you and explain the details so you can understand his recommendations.
